Corona update 
The infection rate on Costa del Sol has increased a bit again, but is now quite steady around 95 to 150 infected people per 100 000 the last 14 days.
The vaccination is moving nicely on, and as of now 14 266 000 people (30,4%) have already been vaccinated here in Spain. A lot of vaccines are on the way now, so we are optimistic regarding the summer of 2021. 
Daily life is good. Restaurants and shops are open, we play padel, tennis and golf, and you can enjoy the sun and a drink on the beach. However, there are mask requirements, and you have to disinfect your hands before entering the shops, dispensers are at the entrance everywhere. You can take off your mask when sitting down in a restaurant, but the waiters always use masks. 
The fact that the pandemic is taken seriously here and there are strict rules that are followed makes it feel safe.
Benalmádena - a cozy town close to Malaga and the airport
Benalmádena is located about 20km west of Malaga International Airport and is situated in between the coastal towns of Torremolinos and Fuengirola.
Benalmádena is full of life during the winter months since many Spaniards and foreign residents live here all year. It is a cozy and welcoming town with warm people, the atmosphere throughout this town is impressively welcoming, many restaurants and cafes and all kinds of shops. 
There is also a Norwegian school in Arroyo de la Miel as well as several international schools.
The main areas of Benalmádena is Benalmádena Pueblo, Benalmádena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel.
